Samba u19 3-3 DUSC
The young Samba Boys finished undefeated yesterday in their first ever tournament, led by co-captain Rijon Harrison’s 5 goals and 2 assists in 3 games.
Samba were the comeback kids all day as they had DUSC on the ropes and had a great first showing in the SBU City Showcase tournament. DUSC struck first before a Dustin Ramirez corner was redirected by Harrison and tucked home by center back Frankhel Ramos. Both Downtown United goals were also from set pieces and they grabbed their second in the last minute of the first half to go into the break with a 2-1 advantage.
Another DUSC goal put them up 3-1 early in the second half before the Samba show really began. Jamaican strike partners Harrison and Dante Taylor were highly threatening during the second 45 and combined for both goals, the second a wonderstrike free kick from Harrison. The KidSuper youngsters were unable to find their fourth to win the tournament, but applied the pressure for the rest of the afternoon and did the entire club proud with their spirit and their efforts.
