Samba II 6-1 Rovers

Saturday night on Randall’s Island the Super Kids torched Barnstonworth Rovers to take over top spot in Division 3 West group as early thoughts of a promotion campaign take hold.

Things began early in the Amadou Fofana show as he started off the scoring after being played in by midfield orchestrator Gerson Gonzalez. A Gonzalez corner then found Rami Musallam who drilled it home to put the kids up 2 nil at the intermission.

Samba began the second half by drawing two penalties in short succession (and had a third controversially not given) as mounting pressure upon the Barnstonworth defence began to take its toll. Abdoul Sangare drew the first one which was coolly slotted home by Ismaila Sy. Fofana drew the next one which was subsequently tucked home by Sangare, who was eager to get himself on the scoresheet. The Malian Fofana was then at it again, teed up by Senegalese El Hadji Amar before Gonzalez finally wrapped up the scoring, assisted by Mohamadou Diallo.
