Kearny 1-2 Samba

Saturday night out in New Jersey the Samba Boys dispatched with EPSL newcomers Kearny Scots-American.

Samba were completely dominant throughout the first half against their historic opponents, but struggled to get shots off against the highly defensive team from the suburbs. Eventually towering strike duo Rijon Harrison and Camary Jonas were able to link aerially and Jonas poked the ball over the Kearny keeper into the open net.

Early on in the second half Samba doubled their lead as midfield playmaker Dylan Cope found the head of Jonas off a set piece, as he again looped the ball over the Kearny keeper to complete his brace. The Scots showed more life, however, in the second period and were able to get a late goal to force a nervy end to the game after the KidSuper bench had been emptied.
