Samba 3-4 NAFC II
Last night KidSuper Samba lost yet another one goal game as the once promising season threatens to spiral out of control.
New Amsterdam had an early goal ruled out for offsides, an early indication that refereeing would play a role in the fixture. Soon after, Samba went down the other end and took the lead through experienced debutant striker Papa Modou Thioune. NAFC equalized before Thioune and then Elhadj Diallo put Samba up 3-1. The Samba Boys threatened, hit the cross bar, and squandered chances to put the game well out of reach before conceding to go into the break with a 3-2 lead.
In what is worryingly becoming a habit for the team, Samba started the second half poorly and were immediately on the back foot to begin proceedings. New Amsterdam pressure resulted in the referee gifting them a penalty which they converted for 3-3, before taking a 4-3 lead off a corner kick. Samba had chances to equalize and were denied a penalty shout, but ultimately fell short and NAFC were lucky not to receive multiple red cards as they held on for their victory.
