Samba 2-3 Westchester Flames
A poor first half from a makeshift young Samba first team squad saw the Boys drop a disappointing fixture Sunday night on Randall’s in a rainstorm.
Samba started well with the visiting USL 2 team unable to make heads or tails of the city boys’ style of play in the opening 20 minutes as Thierno Diallo put us ahead from a Cheikh Diouf cross. The dominance did not last long as things unraveled and KidSuper let in two goals in a five minute span. Rijon Harrison clawed one back for the hosts before the team disappointingly allowed another goal to go into halftime down 3-2.
The second half saw both teams make chances but the Samba Boys in the ascendancy and playing the better football, but ultimately neither side was able to add another goal as the highly competitive friendly match finished as a 3-2 win for the Westchester Flames USL 2 team.
