Samba 2-0 NYAC

The Samba Boys won 2 nil last night in the Columbia bubble in a calm and enjoyable preseason friendly against local city rivals New York Athletic Club.

Samba were perhaps slightly better than NYAC in the first half but overall produced a lacklustre offensive performance and were fortunate to go ahead on the stroke of halftime as Amadou Fofana assisted Cheick Kaba.

The KidSuper crew started well and went up by two early in the second period, but as substitutes entered the field NYAC found more joy and ultimately won a penalty towards the end of 90 although it was sent high and wide. The goal from Samba was an absolute peach thanks to some fancy footwork from attacking midfielder Mamadou Bah after legendary Samba forward Khadim Ndiaye did well to reach the byline and cut a good ball back across the area.
