Borgetto 4-2 Samba

16 year old Ronaldo Fatolou made his first team debut in yesterday morning’s preseason warmup match on Randall’s Island.

It remains to be seen whether the talented young shotstopper will be able to make a league debut this season due COVID rules against under 18 aged players. Mohammed Sow, Camary Jonas, and Samuka Kenneh, who emerged from the youth department, also made their club debuts in the match.

Samba began slowly as the Boys needed to shake off the cobwebs against a Borgetto team from the division below. Borgetto opened the scoring before Alhoussain Bah, from Elhadj Diallo, equalized, sending the game into halftime at 1-1.

The second half saw Borgetto gifted two penalties and our Samba Boys lose two goals to wrongful offsides calls as the one man referee crew struggled with the pace and physicality of the game. Substitute Arsène Oka scored Samba’s second, assisted by 18 year old Rijon Harrison.
