Suffolk 2-2 Samba
The Samba Boys were suffocated out in Suffolk County on Sunday night in their EPSL season opener.
A Samba team featuring plenty of midfield and defensive options took the field against EPSL newcomers Suffolk County FC on Sunday night. The KidSuper bunch had plenty of the ball but struggled to create good opportunities in the final third. Amara Sesay, courtesy of a cross from new signing Yann Kouame, gave Samba the lead in the 18th minute. After conceding, Samba went back in front right before the stroke of halftime on a beautiful direct free kick from Kouame.
Suffolk pulled another equalizer back early in the second half as the visitors fell asleep on a corner kick. Both teams had a few decent chances to win the game, but neither was able to take all three points. Samba had a lot of the ball in the second period but didn’t manage to create many goal chances of much significance.
