Samba 3-0 Doxa

The Samba Boys ran riot in a preseason rout of local rivals Doxa yesterday evening on Randall’s Island.

KidSuper struggled throughout most of the first half as Doxa created various scoring opportunities.

The second half was an entirely different story from the first. Amadou Fofana came in at halftime for Cheick Kaba on the right wing, followed not long after by Ismaila Sy for Camary Jonas, Ebrima Jallow for Ismael Sorogo, and Ahmed Owusu for Abdul Karim Bah. After these changes the Samba Boys proceded to rain down goals upon their visitors. After a Gerson Gonzalez cross was headed out, Ahmed Owusu jumped on it and punched home the Samba opener only minutes after his entry. Soon after that, Zakaria Dukuly entered for Abdoul Sangare and Naim Bakere entered for Gerson Gonzalez. For the Samba second, Amadou Fofana took a short corner quickly, passing the ball to Ebrima Jallow who slotted it home at the near post in a fantastic finish. To round things out, after some Samba high pressure Ahmed Owusu was fouled outside the Doxa 18 and youngster Ismaila Tall stepped up and curled home a direct free kick to complete the fantastic preseason scoreline. Veteran Samba netminder Vadim Seliankin was immense in net for the hosts, keeping what can only be described as a mythical, bare handed clean sheet without any goalie gloves, which he forgot at home.
