Samba 1-6 Oyster Bay

The Samba Boys were blasted last night up in Yonkers as a squad full of second team players was given a thorough reality check in a snowy preseason friendly.

Samba competed throughout the first forty five, but injuries derailed the already thin squad. Camary Jonas pulled up with a knock after warmups, Abdoul Sangare went off injured after five minutes of play, and captain Ibrahima Bah had to come off at half with the score at 2-1. Oyster Bay had struck first before Cheick Kaba equalized from a Jhonny Theze through ball, before the Long Island outfit took the lead for good before the break.

Oyster Bay struck four times unanswered in a humiliating second period for KidSuper, with the club’s reserve team players given a harsh lesson about the gap in quality to the EPSL standard of play.
