Samba 1-2 Zum

Last night the KidSuper Samba first team succumbed to 2-1 defeat to Zum Schneider FC 03 in Yonkers.

An excellent Zum side dominated the midfield in the first half and restricted a much altered Samba starting XI from playing at all through the middle of the park. Zum scored early on, but Samba immediately answered as Seyni Diop connected with Ebrima Jallow for his 33rd club goal in 45 appearances over the last four seasons. Samba unceremoniously allowed another Zum goal before the break.

The Samba Boys were much improved with second half substitutions and pressured throughout the latter period, but were unable to find an equalizing goal. A chance off the post, an excellent save of a Yankuba Janneh free kick, and two penalty shouts as Serigne Kasse and Rijon Harrison were both brought down around the edge of the box leave the team feeling that yet another point was let slip in this young season.
