Kelmendi 1-3 Samba

Thursday night up in Yonkers the Samba Boys advanced to the next round of the National Amateur Cup after defeating Kelmendi FC on a very small pitch at Tibbetts Brook Park.

The small size of the pitch made things very difficult throughout the game, and Samba were forced to make stylistic adjustments on the fly in order to try to figure things out to win the match. Finally, towards the end of the first half the deadlock was broken by Kamal Sabar who headed home a lofted ball from veteran Samba midfielder Chris Peralta.

In the second half, it was more of the same but eventually Samba added two more by the return of star forward Elhadj Diallo who slotted home first from Tijani Fatah and then from Mohamet Ndiaye, a highly talented young midfielder who made his first team debut.
