Celtic 2-1 Samba

The KidSuper first team offered up a highly concerning performance Sunday afternoon at Icahn Stadium as costly defensive errors and an impotent offense saw the Samba Boys unable to overcome long time foes Manhattan Celtic for the second weekend in succession.

The first half offered up little in the way of good football as Celtic went ahead from a far out set piece early in the game. KidSuper pulled one back through Camary Jonas, who was played in by Tijani Fatah, but looked highly disjointed throughout the initial period.

The second half saw the Samba Boys return to playing some of their highly touted possession football through the middle of the park, but the KidSuper attack offered very little going forward before a turnover in the back gifted Celtic a winning goal with only minutes left in the encounter. KidSuper still sits in the top half of the table but now falls to 3 wins and 3 losses on the season as the subpar performances and excuses begin to pile up for a team that had aspirations of a first ever EPSL title.
