Celtic 1-1 (8-9p) Samba

The Samba Boys clawed through another penalty shootout with ten men to advance to the Manning Cup semi finals on Sunday night on Randall’s Island.

Samba again started poorly and conceded early in the match. Midfielder Abdul Karim Bah had to come off with an early injury and an Amara Sesay red card soon followed. Cheikh Diouf and Rijon Harrison entered as first half substitutes and Harrison soon found the back of the net for the KidSuper equalizer before the intermission.

Despite being reduced to ten men Samba were still quite a force in the second period though neither side found a winner in regular time.

In the penalty shootout the Samba Boys outlasted their local counterparts to again advance in the cup.
